ABOUT RICHARD PHILP I am an Emeritus Professor and former Chair of the Dept. of Pharmacology and Toxicology of The University of Western Ontario. After spending five years as a country veterinarian I returned to Western and obtained a Ph.D. in Pharmacology. This was followed by a post doctoral year at the Royal College of Surgeons of England as the Canadian Defence Research Board Fellow in Aviation Medicine.
