Tim Turner
Tim Turner is a 17 year Toyota Manufacturing employee working in various assignments within the Georgetown, Kentucky plant. He is a Christian husband and father and volunteers at his church. (Including a ministry that reaches out to people with developmental disabilities.)
Biography
Tim Turner began working at Toyota Motor Manufacturing, KY (TMMK) on July 17, 1995. Throughout his career he has worked in various areas within the Assembly department. Tim's most recent assignment is in the Assembly Safety team where he helps the team members solve ergonomic safety concerns. He is also one of the leaders in the Assembly diversity committee. Tim is an author, his current book is titled, "One Team on All Levels: The story of the Toyota Team members." All proceeds from the book are being donated to the Toyota Benevolence Fund at TMMK which helps team members in their time of need. In April 2012 he was awarded (along with five fellow team members) a US patent for an equipment design. In 2011 his team was awarded the most innovative award for an equipment design at the Applied Ergonomics Conference in Orlando, FL. Tim is also active in his church and community. He leads a ministry at Victory Life church in Georgetown, KY that ministers to people with developmental disabilities. In June 2012 he was named as a Bluegrass Community Connector. The Bluegrass Community Connectors is a United Way sponsored project (144 people were chosen out of 5,000 nominees in a regional project to help promote community service). In Feb 2012, Tim's quality circle project was selected as one of the Most innovative diversity projects in the United States and was chosen as a presentation for the Diversity Inc Innovation Fest. The project was to create a partnership between TMMK and Lex Pro (a non profit business that provides work opportunities to people with developmental disabilities). His most recent speaking engagement was to the Greater Cleveland Business partnering group where he along with his manager, Dave Orrender once again spoke on the TMMK / Lex Pro partnership.Education

Workplace diversity is enhanced by Toyota Motor North America's partnership with Lex-Pro, a nonprofit that helps people with disabilities reach their highest vocational potential. Toyota Financial Services' iCare helped to measure and increase employee participation in volunteer programs, especially for community work aimed at youth and education. David Orrender and Tim Turner shares the TMMK / Lex Pro partnership helping create a partnership with a non profit organization in Lexington, KY.
