Working with the team at Routledge/Taylor & Francis to publish a custom edition of David Tod's esteemed work on sport psychology proved eminently satisfactory. The editorial and design work was professional and resulted in a seamless integration of material we introduced to the book. A team that has success communicates well, and lines of communication with the production team were clear and responsive.

When Routledge published ‘Narratives of Recovery from Mental Illness’ the role of peer support’ which was based on the findings of my PhD research and cowritten with my PhD supervisor Professor Agnes Higgins Agnes and I were both very excited at the prospect of our work reaching university libraries worldwide. The role that peer support can play in recovery from mental illness is an area of study that has been severely neglected and there is a huge need for evidence based research which taps into the experience of service users. We received some favourable feedback from individuals who came across the work but we found the price of hard back copies made direct sales to people we knew would have a personal interest extremely difficult. After consultation with Pete Williams Head of Corporate Sales for the Taylor & Francis group we were facilitated in producing a limited run of 200 soft back copies at a much more saleable price. We had no problem in selling these copies. Ireland’s mental health commission, GROW in Ireland and Mental health Ireland all ordered multiple copies as did a number of schools of nursing. At a public book launch in Kilkenny over sixty individuals who identified as service users, relatives or mental health professionals with an interest in recovery ordered individual copies. I have no doubt that if the book were available in book shops around Ireland there would be a steady demand. One shop in Kilkenny took a number of copies after the local launch generated a number of enquiries.
