    Biography

    Ronald Wixman earned a bachelor's degree at Hunter College of the City University of New , a master's at Columbia University, and a doctorate at the University of Chicago. He is currently associate professor of geography at the University of Oregon. Professor Wixman is the author of Language Aspects of Ethnic Patterns and Processes in the North Caucasus, a great many published articles, and numerous entries in the 3rd edition of The Encyclopedia of Islam.
