Winners Announced for the 2018 TWS Wildlife Publication Award

"CRC Press is pleased to annouce the two winnners of the TWS Wildlife Publication Award for Authored and Edited Book categories."

Following the the TWS 25th Annual Conference, the winners of the 2018 TWS Wildlife Publication Award were announced with the titles Urban Wildlife Management winner of the Authored book category and Ecology and Conservation of Lesser Prairie-Chickenswinner of the Edited book category

Below are the original six CRC Press titles that had been shortlisted in each category:

Authored Book
• Animal Movement: Statistical Models for Telemetry Data, by Mevin B. Hooten, Devin S. Johnson, Brett T. McClintock, and Juan M. Morales (CRC Press)
• Urban Wildlife Management, by Clark E. Adams (CRC Press) - Winner!
• Wildlife Habitat Management: Concepts and Applications in Forestry, by Brenda C. McComb (CRC Press)

Edited Book
• Carrion Ecology, Evolution, and Their Applications, edited by M. Eric Benbow, Jeffery K. Tomberlin, and Aaron M. Tarone (CRC Press)
• Ecology and Conservation of Lesser Prairie-Chickens, edited by David A. Haukos and Clint W. Boal (CRC Press) - Winner!

Urban Wildlife Management, Third Editionwritten by Clark E. Adams, won the award for the best authored book. Clark’s first edition had been previously nominated for this award and the third edition is a Choice Outstanding Academic Title. The award win made a poignant mark for the day as the author received this honor posthumously.
In the “Edited Books” category, editors David A. Haukos and Clint W. Boal were also celebrating recognition for their winning title, Ecology and Conservation of Lesser Prairie-Chickens. This book is a volume of the highly renowned series Studies in Avian Biology, in collaboration with the American Ornithological Society. Another volume from the Studies in Avian Biology series, Golden-winged Warbler Ecology, won the TWS Publication Award for an Edited Book in 2017.
