Professor of Chemistry, Professor of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering
Rice University

I am a Professor of Chemistry at Rice University. I am specializing in Theoretical Chemistry and Theoretical Biophysics. My main research goal is to understand mechanisms of complex chemical and biological processes utilizing tools of Statistical Mechanics.

Biography

I was born in Soviet Union in 1967. After graduating from Moscow State University (Chemistry Department) with MS in Chemistry I moved to USA. In 1994 I was accepted as a graduate student at Cornell University, where I worked with prof. Ben Widom. I received a PhD in Chemistry in 1998. I worked as a postdoctoral research associate with Prof. Michael E. Fisher from 1998 till 2000. In 2000 I joined Department of Chemistry at Rice University where I went from Assistant Professor to Full Professor.
