Xose Lopez
Professor Xose M. Lopez-Fernandez received the M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering and obtained the Ph.D. degree (with first class honors) from Vigo University,Spain, in 1992 and 1997, respectively. He is currently Professor in the Dept. of EE, University of Vigo, and was a Visiting Prof. at the University of Artois, France. He was Director of R&D Department for EFACEC Transformers from 2012 to 2014. He is the main Editor of the monograph Transformers. Analysis, Design and Measurement.

Biography
Professor Xose M. Lopez-Fernandez received the M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering and obtained the Ph.D. degree (with first class honors) from Vigo University,Spain, in 1992 and 1997, respectively. He is currently Professor in the Dept. of EE, University of Vigo, and was a Visiting Prof. at the University of Artois, France. He was Director of R&D Department for EFACEC Transformers from 2012 to 2014. He is the main Editor of the monograph Transformers. Analysis, Design and Measurement.Professor Lopez-Fernandez is the founder and General Chairman of The International Advanced Research Workshop on Transformers. He is leading research projects and consultant for utilities and power transformer manufacturers. His research interests are on design aspects of electrical machines. Dr. López-Fernández received the Alfons Hoffmann’s Medal by the Polish Power Engineering Society in 2004.
He is a member of the IEEE-PES Transformers Committee as well as CIGRE Working Groups.
