Mr. Etter has worked as an ocean scientist for the past 40 years supporting federal and state agencies, academia and private industry. He served in the US Navy as an Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) Officer aboard frigates where he was responsible for the tactical operation of the ships' sonar systems. He is the author or co-author of more than 200 reports, professional papers and books.

Biography

Mr. Etter currently teaches professional courses on the topic of ‘Underwater Acoustic Modeling and Simulation’ at the Applied Technology Institute (ATI) in Maryland, USA. He also taught courses entitled ‘Underwater Acoustics 201’ at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory in Maryland, and ‘Advanced Topics in Underwater Acoustics’ at the US Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Newport, Rhode Island.

    Sailing full-scale boats as well as free-sailing model yachts. Studying colonial-era maritime history.
