Kevin J. Keen is a statistician and an associate professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Northern British Columbia in Prince George, Canada.

Biography

Dr. Keen joined the faculty of UNBC in July 2004. Dr. Keen has held appointments as an Assistant Professor teaching mathematics and statistics at Royal Roads Military College, statistics at the University of Manitoba, and genetic epidemiology and biostatistics at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio.   He has published over 28 refereed articles in journals and encyclopedias and a textbook on statistical graphics published in 2010.   His research involves the development of novel statistical techniques and cutting-edge computer software for the analysis of multivariate family data in the study of complex genetic diseases. He is the co-author of peer-reviewed articles on metabolic syndrome and immune diseases.  Dr. Keen has served as a statistical consultant designing and analyzing clinical trials and public health intervention studies.   Dr. Keen is a member of the Statistical Society of Canada, the American Statistical Association, the Institute of Mathematical Statistics, and is a fellow of the Royal Statistical Society. He is a past President of the Statistical Association of Manitoba and currently serves as  a member of the Awards Committee of the SSC.
