Sandeep Kumar
Sandeep Kumar is presently serving as a Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, IIT (BHU), Varanasi. The field of his interest is Computational Mechanics focusing on wavelets for the last 15 years. He has desires (i) to create interest among the students in the abstract mathematics which is necessary to understand the science at a higher level, (ii) to introduce relevant mathematics for the concepts of advanced FEM and wavelets. He has teaching experience of 25 years.
Biography
Born in 1965Searching happiness since the death of my father in 1980.
Got support from my brother.
Gift of God, my little mathematical sill brought some pleasure.
Searching the Ultimate Truth with the help of mathematics.
May my soul rest in mathematics.
Areas of Research / Professional Expertise
-
After completing B.E. (MNREC Allahabad) and M.Tech. (IT BHU Varanasi) I started my research career in Computational Mechanics at the Department of Applied Mechanics, IIT Delhi in 1991. I used Chebyshev polynomial to solve coupled nonlinear PDEs. After Ph.D. I worked on the element free Galerkin method and radial basis functions to solve heat transfer and composite plates problems. I also applied the concept of chaos for the analysis of roller bearings.
For the last fifteen years, I am focusing on wavelets for various applications such as the solution of partial differential equations, image processing, and pattern recognition.
