Christine Capra is the program manager and co-founder of the Horticultural Therapy Institute in Denver, CO, She has BA in journals from Metropolitan State University in Denver and has written for many publications. Biography

Christine L. Capra is the program manager and co-founder of the Horticultural Therapy Institute in Denver, Colorado, where accredited horticultural therapy education is offered to students from across the United States and abroad. She is an active member of the American Horticultural Therapy Association serving on a variety of work teams and contributing to its publications. Previously she helped manage the horticultural therapy educational programs at the Denver Botanic Gardens. She has a bachelor of arts in Journalism and is co-editor of the book Horticultural Therapy Methods: Making Connections in Health Care, Human Service and Community Programs (Taylor & Francis, 2006) and editor of the online HTI newsletter, "Making Connections." She has won numerous writing awards and has been published in OT Weekly, Mountain Plain and Garden, Green Thumb News, People-Plant Connection, AHTA News Magazine, GrowthPoint, The Community Gardener, Health and Gardens, Colorado Gardener, Denver Catholic Register, and Our Sunday Visitor. She was a reporter for the Denver Catholic Register for many years and received several writing awards from the Society of Professional Journalists, the Catholic Press Association, and the Colorado Press Association. In 2009, she was awarded the Publication Award from the American Horticultural Therapy Association.
