I have been an NHS GP for over 30 years, and since 1997 (with my colleague Ian Hill-Smith) have designed and run educational courses on minor illness for nurses, pharmacists, paramedics, school nurses and health visitors. Ian and I have been the main authors of all five editions of The Minor Illness Manual, which is the standard UK text on minor illness and has sold over 25,000 copies.
