I currently work as a researcher at the Italian National Council of Research (CNR) on topics devoted to the characterization and development of materials and the use of multivariate statistics. Living in Italy also influenced strongly my passion for art and 3D graphics gave me the opportunity to merge my passions since as soon as I own my first computer (early 90s)
Biography
I'm a scientist with a variety of interests. I currently work as a researcher at the Italian National Council of Research (CNR) on topics devoted to the characterization and development of new materials. I graduated in chemistry in 1999 with a thesis on magnetic behaviour of ternary compounds based on rare earth elements. After working in the chemical industry in an R & D lab I returned to university to obtain a PhD in chemical sciences in 2005. During mys PhD I spent a period of study at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna that kindled the passion of art I always had. After my phD I focused my research on data analysis also having the opportunity to get a post-doc at Nofima in Oslo.
3D graphics represents for me the chance to merge my interests in chemistry and art and I've started to play with 3d software since the 2000s. I'm a member of CGSociety where I share my passion for scientific illustrations.
