Emeritus/Adjunct Professor
University of Missouri

I was born in West Texas ranch country. My most influential role models in life were my dad, a small town medical doctor, and ranch cowboys who were highly adept at safe, efficient handling a variety of animals. As a result, I grew up wanting to be a combination of both, a veterinarian. Although most of my career as been spent trying to advance the science of small animal internal medicine and training new veterinarians, I have remained fascinated by safe methods of humane animal handling.
