COLIN ROBERTSON is Professor of Accident and Emergency Medicine and Surgery at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland.
He has worked in the specialty as a clinician, and educator for over 35 years. His main research interests are in cardiopulmonary and trauma resuscitation, pre-hospital care and medical teaching. He has written or edited over 20 books including MacLeod’s Clinical Examination, the Cambridge Textbook of Accident and Emergency Medicine, and the Oxford Handbook of Emergency Medicine and over 200 papers and chapters.
He now realises that almost everything he was taught is wrong; most of what he thought was wrong is possible; and that you should never believe so-called ‘experts’.
He is not an expert in anything.
