As maintenance engineer in power stations, I gained a large overview of all aspects of maintenance planning and engineering in a high availability business. I took the chance to support a large-scale lean-transformation project. As project manager, I led the transformation in numerous power stations. Here I helped to rise the efficiency of the maintenance-processes within those plants significantly. Today I develop and deliver consulting and management services for energy business, worldwide.

Biography

I started my career as maintenance electrician in a German open cast lignite mining company. After several years of practical working, I absolved studies in electrical engineering. As maintenance engineer I worked in one of the largest German hard coal fired power stations. During that time, I gained huge insights of all aspects of maintenance budgeting, planning and engineering in a high availability business. I took the chance to support a large-scale lean-transformation project within my employing company. As maintenance specialist, and later on as project manager, I led the transformation in most of the German based power stations of my company. With my profound maintenance knowledge and people skills, I helped to rise the efficiency of the maintenance-processes within these plants significantly. Today I'm working in a central function to develop and deliver consultancy and O&M services for energy business, worldwide.

Areas of Research / Professional Expertise

    Following a training as Maintenance Electrician followed by several year practicing, I studied electrical engineering with the focus on energy electronics and process automatization.

Personal Interests

    I like to work with people. I my leisure time, I used to sail on tall ships  as watch leader. Beside ensuring safe journeys, I trained the people in my watch-team to become even more experienced seaman / seawoman. Because of this, my first book "Rumpf und Rigg - Ein Segelhandbuch" is about how to work is tall ship. In other occasions, I trained young scout leaders in recon and steer group dynamics to become a effective leaders. Last, but not at all at least, there is my family of 5. Summarizing: Working with people, either in business or private life and support them to become better in what the are doing is my driver!
