Furthermore, Dr. Poom Kumam had an opportunity to take a role as Visiting Professors in 2011 at Kyungnum University (KU) and Gyeongsang National University (GNU), Republic of Korea. In 2012, he took the same role, a Visiting Professor, at the University of Alberta, Canada for short research two months with Professor Anthony To-Ming Lau. Moreover, he also Visiting many university in Japan, Visiting Professor at the University of Newcastle, Australia (in 2013), University of Jean, Spain (2014, 2015) and University of Avigon, France (2016-2017). Also, short visit at Universität Wien, Vienna, Austria (2017) and China Medical University Taichung, Taiwan for joint visiting professor programs in 2016-2017. Also he joint trainning program of Newton Fund Professional Development Programme for Mid-Career Researchers By British Council UK-Thailand & Thailand Research Fund (TRF), March 2015 in UK.
He won two of the most important awards for mathematicians. The first one is the TRF-CHE-Scopus Young Researcher Award in 2010 from three organizations: TRF, CHE, and Elsevier Publisher (Scopus). The second award was in 2012 when he received the TWAS Prize for Young Scientist in Thailand, which is given by the Academy of Sciences for the Developing World TWAS (UNESCO) together with the National Research Council of Thailand. In 2014, the third award is the Fellowship Award For Outstanding Contribution to Mathematics from International Academy of Physical Science, Allahabad, India. In 2015 Dr. Poom Kumam has been awarded Thailand Frontier Author Award 2015, Award for outstanding researcher who has published works and has often been used as a reference or evaluation criteria of the database Web of Science. Moreover, In 2016 Dr. Poom Kumam has been awarded 2016 Thailand Frontier Researcher Awards on Innovation Forum: Discovery, Protection, Commercialization By Intellectual Property & Science, and Thomson Reuters. Also, in this year Professor Dr. Poom Kumam was selected to be in 2017 KMUTT Hall of Fame Award on August 29, 2017 at 10th Anniversary Honorary Award 2016 In Honour of the Recipients of Academic Awards.
Professor Poom Kumam is the Associate Editor-in-Chief of the Thai Journal of Mathematics since 2015, Assistance Editors for The Journal of Nonlinear Analysis and Optimization: Theory & Applications, Editor for The Journal of Nonlinear Science and Applications (SCIE), The journal BULLETIN of the Malaysian Mathematical Sciences Society (SCIE) and The editorial board of Fixed Point Theory and Applications (July 2012-April 2015) (SCIE), Creative Mathematics and Informatics, Springerplus (SCIE) and Guest Editors of Abstract and Applied Analysis. Editorial Board of the journal Fixed Point Theory in 2016 (SCIE), Fixed Point Theory - An International Journal on Fixed Point Theory, Computation and Applications. Now, Professor Poom Kumam is invited to the Editor-in-Chief of Results in Fixed Point Theory and Applications the new journal in 2018.
Currently, Professor Poom Kumam is the head of the KMUTTFixed Point Research Laboratory of KMUTT Fixed Point Theory and Applications Research Group and head of the Theoretical and Computational Science Center (TaCS-Center) at KMUTT.
He is also the Director of director of Computational and Applied Science for Smart Innovation Cluster (CLASSIC Research Cluster), KMUTT.

Even though our laboratory is named ‘KMUTT Fixed Point Theory and Applications Research Group’, this is not the only topic we study and expertised. At present, we also do extensive research in the areas of Nonsmooth optimization, Numerical analysis, Game theory and Convex analysis. We also include applications of such topics involving Optimal control, Dynamical systems, Differential and integral systems, and Digital imaging technology.
As we usually did, we have published our research articles in several reputed international journals and still in experiments to wide range of future research perspectives.
Our research philosophy now is to explore more with high-performance computer, both to discover hidden facts and behaviors to help the development of new results, and to apply and simulate our obtained results in complicate scenarios. To illustrate our focus in this computer-driven researches, we pick some interesting results to highlight our method to study.
