Weihai Zhang received his Ph.D. degree from Zhejiang University,Hangzhou, China in 1998. He is currently a Professor of Shandong University of Science and Technology. Dr. Zhang has published more than 100 peer-reviewed journal papers and one monograph in the areas of stochastic control and robust control. His research interests include linear and nonlinear stochastic optimal control, robustcontrol, stochastic stability and stabilization.

Biography

Weihai Zhang received his M.S. degree from Hangzhou University (currently, Zhejiang University), and the  Ph . D. degree from Zhejiang University,  Hangzhou, China, in 1994 and 1998, respectively. He is currently a Professor of Shandong University of Science and Technology. Dr. Zhang is now a Taishan Scholar of Shandong Province, China,  an Associate Editor of Asian Journal of Control and  an Associate Editor of the Conference Editorial Board of IEEE Control Systems Society. Dr. Zhang is a Senior Member of IEEE and a Member of  Technical Committee on Control Theory of Chinese Association of Automation. Dr. Zhang was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in National Tsing Hua University from may 2001 to July 2003, and a visiting professor from September 2010 to February 2011, and from January 2015 to January 2016. Dr. Zhang has published more than 100 peer-reviewed journal papers and one monographs scheduled to be published in 2016 in the areas of stochastic control, robust control and systems biology.  His  representative paper “W. Zhang, B. S. Chen. State feedback H infinity control for a class of nonlinear stochastic systems, SIAM J. Control and Optimization, 44(6), pp.1973-1991, 2006”  has been selected as a featured fast-moving front paper by Thomson Reuters ScienceWatch, and has been selected as the most-cited paper in the research area of Mathematics by Essential Science Indicator from Thomson Reuters. His research interests include linear and nonlinear stochastic optimal control, robust H infinity control, and systems biology. He has won the second prize the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China twice.
