Biography
Jim Klein is a senior process safety consultant with 36 years of experience. He currently conducts process hazard studies, safety culture assessments, compliance audits, and other process safety services. Prior to this, he was a senior process safety competency consultant and PSM co-lead for North America Operations at a large chemical company, with experience in process safety, engineering, and research. He led global teams for chemical reactivity, consequence analysis, process safety training, and operational discipline. He has over 50 publications, conference presentations, and university talks and has participated in several Center for Chemical Process Safety (CCPS) book projects, including as the leader of Conduct of Operations and Operational Discipline and as a member of Risk Based Process Safety and other projects. He has a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from MIT, an M.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from Drexel University, and an M.S. degree in Management of Technology from the University of Minnesota.
