I am a quantum chemist mostly involved in conceptual problems. In particular, I am interested how to connect the physical description of molecules as systems of electrons and nuclei with the chemical one in which the molecule is considered as a system of bonded atoms.

Subjects: Chemistry, Physics

Biography

I had started with EPR spectroscopy, where the methods are radio-physical, the theory of spectra required quantum chemical approach. After a short period spent with theoretical chemical kinetics, I started to work in quantum chemical methodology. In 1970-es I was mainly involved in the development of Lowdin's spin projected extended Hartree-Fock method, since that mainly in the interrelation between physical and  chemical descriptions of molecules. (But I worked with a number of other  topics, too -- e.g. antiferromagnets, intermolecular interactions, etc,)

Education

Master in radiophysics, Kharkov State University, 1967
PhD and DSc in chemistry, Hungarian Academy of Sciences
