Grew up in Passaic NJ, an enjoyable time. Studied engineering at NJIT (former NCE), the a PhD from NYU. Got into the field of fire by luck, and have been involved since 1971. I learned this profession working for NIST and the U of MD. It gave me wonderful experiences and friendships. Its a challenging field with still a lot more to learn. Now retired, I still try to be active in this field, and also play with the Mummers.
