Biography

Anthony V. DiSalvatore, CPP, PSP, PCI, CFE, CLSD, has over 30 years of experience in security-related positions. He has been involved in the design, implementation, and operation of security surveillance centers in numerous casinos, hotels and entertainment complexes across the country. DiSalvatore has also served as a state trooper for the New Jersey State Police and received a Distinguished Service Award for actions taken. He played an integral role in the proper execution of disaster recovery plans during Hurricanes Frances, Wilma, and Sandy.

DiSalvatore earned an associate’s degree in arts and science from Gloucester County College, a bachelor’s degree in law/justice from Glassboro State College, and master’s degrees in education administration and criminal justice from Seton Hall University and Rutgers University, respectively. DiSalvatore is a member of the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS) International as well as their Gaming and Wagering Protection Council. He previously held membership in the Crime and Loss Prevention Council; Business Management and Business Continuity Council, and has been recognized by the organization as a Triple Crown recipient, by virtue of being a Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Physical Security Professional (PSP), and Professional Certified Investigator (PCI).

Proactive and effective measures that should be taken during the pre-opening phases of opening a Casino from a security perspective are reviewed which include the construction phase, importance of walk throughs, strategies for hiring and training. Taking a security management position on a new casino project requires long hours, hard work, and dedication and will be a major focus of the security director’s life for 12 to 18 months until the Casino is opened- and then the games begin.
