Paul Jorgensen
After 20 years in the telephone switching systems industry, I moved to academia, where I have taught Computer Science since 1985. My industrial experience, teaching responsibilities, and research interests align on software engineering in general, and modeling and testing inparticular.
Biography
I grew up in Illinois and attended a small liberal arts college there, followed by a year at the University of Illinois. UIpon graduation, I joined GTE Automatic Electric Labs, and remained in various divisions of GTE for 20 years. Three of those years were on an asisgnment in Cassina de' Pecchi, near milano, Italy.When I returned from Italy, I joined the lab in Phoenix, Arizona, and subsequently began a doctoral program at Arizona State University, where I taught for two years.
Our family moved to Michigan, where we have remained ever since. I have been on the faculty of Grand Valley State University since 1988.
The summer of 1999 marked my first visit to the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota. In the past thirteen years, I have developed deep friendships with Lakota elders and young people. I have been formally honored twice by my Lakota friends.
