Wendy Despain is a video game writer and narrative designer with 13 years of spearheading digital media projects. She has served as a writer, editor and consultant working on Internet community strategies, content, information architecture and viral marketing campaigns for a variety of companies around the country. Wendy is contributing editor on three books about game narrative and design.

Biography

Wendy Despain is a contract game designer, writer and teacher with wide experience in games and viral media. Her credits include narrative designer on EA’s social game JetSet Secrets, Playdom’s Gardens of Time (GDC Online’s Best Social Game of 2011), and design consultant on Cartoon Network's MMO Fusion Fall (2009 Webby nominee). Wendy was also the lead designer and producer on Alternate Reality Games (ARG's) for Gene Roddenbery's "Andromeda" and "Earth: Final Conflict," and served as writer and/or designer on a variety of children's games such as Bratz: Forever Diamondz and Jakers! Let’s Explore! She runs her own consultancy called Quantum Content, works in association with International Hobo, and teaches full-time at The Guildhall at SMU.

    BA in Magazine Journalism from Drake University, Iowa.
