    On September 23, 2019, Theresa-Marie Rhyne will visit and lecture at Virigina Tech (Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State Univerity) in Blacksburg, Virginia. Sponsored by Virginia Tech's Advanced Research Computing unit, the Department of Computer Science, the Center for Human Computer Interaction and the Institute for Creativity, Arts and Technology, her seminar will be on "Color Fundamentals for Digital Content Creation and Visualization". The event will be held at 1 PM in Torgersen Hall on the Virginia Tech campus. She will provide an introduction to the concepts of color models and harmony, a review of color vision principles, the defining of color gamut, spaces and systems, and highlighting online and mobile apps for performing color analyses of digital media. She will highlight concepts from art and design such as extending the fundamentals of the Bauhaus into digital media as well as review color perception and appearance principals from vision and visualization researchers and practitioners. Newly emerging trends in automated color selection and deep learning colorization are also noted. The next day, September 24, 2019, she will provide a lecture to a graduate Computer Science class on the specific tools and processes  for color selection in digital media compositions. Updates to and elements from her CRC Press book on "Apply Color Theory to Digital Media and Visualization" will be featured.
