    This long-running workshop will include a number of new developments and insights which have been developed for presentation in the new book published by Taylor and Francis/CRCPress by the three authors.

    This workshop will introduce delegates to the principles of opencast and underground mine haul road design, from road building material selection and characterisation, geometric road design and layout, layerworks and wearing course selection and design, practical construction techniques, through to real-time evaluation and performance assessment methodologies as a basis for haul road maintenance management and improvement or upgrading strategies.

    This is the first time that the three eminent authors are jointly presenting this two day workshop.

    The technical and economic benefits of attending include:

    • Developing skills in basic haul road geometric design and the  principles for road and optimum truck fleet performance
    • Learn and apply skills for structural and layerworks design and evaluation techniques
