Understanding Cities

About the Series

Understanding Cities is a series of three texts co-produced with The Open University. Each text works well as a stand-alone but together the 3 tell a coherent story and form a comprehensive textbook package for undergraduates on cities or urban sociology courses. The series builds on many courses in the Faculty of Social Sciences including geography, sociology and social policy and draws authors from all these disciplines. All three books include: * two colour text throughout * student activites and discussion questions * references and further reading sugestions * the last chapter of each provides a conclusion to the whole book * core ideas discussed in detail are indexed in bold * maps, diagrams, line drawings and photos throughout.
