The main text is from a transcription of the 1609 Mexico edition. The appendix includes a brief continuation of the history of the Philippines to 1868, particularly with regard to government and commerce. For a revised edition, see Second Series 140. This is a new print-on-demand hardback edition of the volume first published in 1868.
