    Biography

Tapan Kumar Giri was educated at Jadavpur University, Kolkata, India, where he received pharmacy

degrees in B.Pharm, M.Pharm and a Ph.D. He has held academic posts in various pharmacy

institutes of North India and is currently working as an Assistant Professor in Pharmaceutical

Technology at the NSHM College of Pharmaceutical Technology, Kolkata, India. His main research

interests are formulation development and drug delivery. He has mentored over 20 Master’s students.

He has published around 60 research papers, 7 book chapters and 2 pharmacy books. He

has served as a guest editor for the Current Chemical Biology Journal, Bentham Science. He has

received the prestigious highly cited article award from Elsevier as well as the teacher of the year

2017 award from Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, West Bengal, India.

Bijaya Ghosh has been teaching for the last 30 years and has taught pharmacy to undergraduates

and graduate students in some of the premier institutions of North and South India. Currently she is

working as a Professor in Pharmaceutics at NSHM College of Pharmaceutical Technology, Kolkata.

She received her B.Pharm, M.Pharm and Ph.D. degrees from Jadavpur University in the years 1983,

1986 and 1994, respectively. She has authored 2 pharmacy text books and has published some

30 research papers in national and international journals. Her research interests involve various

streams of novel drug delivery like sustaining drug release, passive and iontophoretic drug delivery

and nanobiotechnology. Ever interested in experimenting with new concepts, currently she is working

on the reverse iontophoretic extraction of small molecules for therapeutic drug monitoring.
