The African Commission on Human and Peoples' Rights has established a Working Group on Indigenous Populations/Communities that undertook a country visit to the Republic of Congo in March 2010, and this is the report from that visit. This visit was a follow-up visit to the one also conducted by the working group in September 2005 and aimed at encouraging the government to adopt a law on indigenous peoples' rights. The report gives an account of meetings held with government authorities, civil society organizations, indigenous communities, and other stakeholders; it describes the situation of the indigenous populations in the country and it makes recommendations to the government, civil society organizations, and the international community. The mission was conducted in Brazzaville and in the Sibiti region. The report is a bilingual English/French publication.
