He has received numerous awards for outstanding teaching, and twice honored by the National Environmental Health Association for his distinguished services and excellent research. He has authored six, globally-recognized, multi-edition books in environmental health and occupational safety. A fellow of the American Public Health Association, and founding diplomate of the Intersociety Academy for Certification of Sanitarians and founder of the Indiana state University student National Environmental Heath Association, he has been a consultant to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the National Institute of Environmental Health Science and numerous health departments and hospitals. He founded the modern concept of environmental health internships in 1969. He also provided 1100 internships in 70 health departments and 28 states. He helped the students earn over 3 million dollars to learn while they gained excellent practical environmental experience. He graduated 500 students from the environmental health programs.
