Diverse Faculty in the Academy

About the Series

Volumes in this series address the core issues of teaching, research, and service impacting the success of diverse faculty, and are written for faculty and administrators at colleges and universities seeking to create departmental and institutional environments that nurture professional growth and foster success. "Diverse Faculty in the Academy" addresses the long-standing dilemma of how diverse faculty can develop a professional identity that leads to their success, while at the same time remaining true to their cultural and personal identities. Books in this collection present formal narratives and counter-narratives that problematize commonly held assumptions about life in academe, while simultaneously providing key recommendations to facilitate the development of critical departmental and institutional initiatives to support healthy professional identities among diverse faculty.
