About the Series

The Advances in Systems Science and Engineering Series aims at collecting and publishing the classical masterpieces written by well-known founders of systems science as well as the books written by contemporary systems scientists. These books cover innovative research in systems science contributed to different disciplines and trace how concepts and findings in systems science have been applied, extended, and refined in different disciplines. The diverse books to be included in this Series will have important relationships to different disciplines, as well as their home field of systems science which will illustrate how systems science has profoundly impacted and changed the research in different disciplines.

About the Series Editor

Dr. Xu ([email protected]) earned his Ph.D. in Systems Science. He is an Eminent Scholar at Old Dominion University and a Changjiang Chair Professor at Beijing Jiaotong University. He is a member of the editorial board of Systems Research and Behavioral Sciences and has edited numerous special issues for Systems Research and Behavioral Sciences. He also serves as the special issue editors and associate editors of IEEE Systems Journal and IEEE Transactions SMC. He is the founding Director of the Institute of Systems Science and Engineering at Wuhan University of Technology, China.
