Biography
Hubbert Smith - Project Ops, Product Ops, Customer Success30+ year high tech experience in Program Management, Product Management and Strategy.

He holds 5 patents and is a published author of 3 books and 2 LinkedIn Learning courses.
Early career at NCR Hubbert was program manager for Unix Clustering, Filesystem and Data Replication enterprise software. This software was deployed by savvy, demanding customers such as Delta Airlines and German Postal Service.
Subsequently, at Intel, he pioneered creation of Serial ATA for data centers. He wrote the original 16 SATA use cases that drove numerous standardized capabilities. He chaired SATA Cable Connector working group and co-Authored Intel Press book on Serial ATA,
Next at WDC, in just 12 quarters he grew WD Enterprise HDD business worldwide, from zero units per-Q to 1,000,000 units per-Q; while earning industry’s best gross Margins against bigger, better funded competitors.
Soon after, Hubbert developed Netapps’ big data solution business from the ground up. He defined the solution, program managed the R&D, led the generation of the solution collateral, wrote sales training, and served as company expert. Hubbert established key alliances with Cloudera, Hortonworks, and MapR. Hubbert developed an additional strategic alliance with Cisco which resulted in a Cisco Validated Design sold through Cisco channels. Multiple patents granted.
More recently Hubbert served as director of strategy and business development for Samsung Datacenter SSD.
He delivered 3 significant Samsung strategy projects: Data Center SSD Strategy, NVMe over Fabrics strategy and AI strategy for memory.
He influenced multiple design wins leading to ~$300M in sales. He was granted a patent in the field of storage security and has multiple additional patents applied for in the field of storage for edge operations.
