Rahul Kala
Rahul Kala is pursuing a PhD course in Robotics at University of Reading, UK. His areas of research are robotic planning and coordination, autonomous robotic vehicles, hybrid soft computing, biometrics, pattern recognition, artificial intelligence, and soft computing. He has published 3 books and more than 50 papers. He is the recipient of Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan.
Biography
Rahul Kala is pursuing a PhD course in Robotics at University of Reading, UK. He did his Integrated Masters (BTech and MTech) in Information Technology from Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management Gwalior in 2010. His areas of research are robotic planning and coordination, autonomous robotic vehicles, hybrid soft computing, biometrics, pattern recognition, artificial intelligence, and soft computing. He has published over 50 papers in various international and national journals/conferences. His publication credentials include journals from Elsevier, Taylor and Francis, Springer etc. He is also the author of three books published with CRC Press, Springer and IGI-Global publishers. Rahul is reviewer for IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics - Part B and Part C, IEEE Transactions on Mechatronics, Journal of Intelligent and Robptic Systems (Springer), Neurocomputing (Elsevier) Swarm and Evolutionary Computation (Elsevier), Robotica (Cambridge Journals), and many other journals/conferences. He is also a strong supporter of peer learning and open learning practices. He is recipient of Commonwealth Scholarship by the British Council for his PhD. He secured All India 8th position in Graduates Aptitude Test in Engineering-2008 with a percentile of 99.84. He is the winner of Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan 2010 - UK; Lord of the Code Scholarship Contest organized by KReSIT, IIT Bombay and Red Hat, besides numerous other awards.Education
