Robert Newcombe
As a medical statistician I have collaborated with researchers in all specialties of medicine and other health disciplines. My personal research interest is exactly as in the title of my 2012 book - confidence intervals for proportions and related measures of effect size.
Biography
I have worked in the Cardiff medical school from 1971 to date. I was awarded a PhD by the University of Wales in 1980. I have performed external examining duties for King's College London, the Faculty of Public Health and the Royal College of Radiologists. I am a member of the editorial board of Statistical Methods in Medical Research and I have refereed many papers for Statistics in Medicine and other journals.Education

Born in 1950, I was educated at Merchant Taylors' School, Crosby and Trinity College, Cambridge where I took the Mathematical Tripos (1970) and Diploma in Mathematical Statistics (1971).
