Biography

Dr. Jean Ann Larson is the principal and managing consultant of her own process improvement, change management and transformation consultancy. Jean Ann is an experienced healthcare executive who partners with business owners, leaders, executive teams, and individuals to help them become more productive by providing them the mindset and proven tools to transition and transform their organizations. She does this through management consulting, facilitation, speaking and customized workshops and solutions. Her sweet spot is the intersection between, process reengineering, people and organizational change.
Jean Ann has led organizational, professional and business transformations for over two and a half decades. She has served as an internal process engineer and consultant, a change agent, VP of Clinical and Quality Services and Chief Learning Officer founding an award winning and respected corporate university. She also served as a Senior Executive for two large healthcare organizations where she has led the functions of organizational effectiveness, process improvement, executive development, talent management, team building, employee engagement, care management, accreditation, quality, patient safety, facilitation of strategy development, as well as several clinical areas.
She is a past President of the Society for Health Systems (SHS) for the Institute of Engineers (IIE) and has served two terms on the SHS board of directors. She is a past SHS Conference Chair and is a Senior Member of IIE. Jean Ann has served as Vice Chair and a Board member of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) and has served on several HIMSS committees. In 2011 she was named the Wichita State University Sam Bloomfield Distinguished Engineer-in-Residence. In 2014 she received the SHS/HIMSS Excellence in Healthcare Management Engineering/Process Improvement Award.
Jean Ann has a degree in industrial engineering, an international MBA and in 2011 she received her doctorate in organization change from Pepperdine University. Her studies and research focused on personal, professional and organizational transitions. She has written, edited and published books and articles on transition and transformation, management engineering, healthcare redesign and reengineering, process improvement, leadership and organization change. Her most recent book is Organizational and Process Reengineering: Approaches for Health Care Transformation coming out August 2015.  She is a frequent speaker at national and international conferences on process redesign, change management, leadership, transformation, cultural change and organization development. She was recently named to the faculty of SMU’s Cox Business School Executive Education Program. She resides in Dallas, Texas.
