M. Balasubramanian

Biography

Dr. Balasubramanian is currently a Professor in the department of metallurgical and materials engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Madras, India. His area of specialization is composite materials, including nanocomposites. He has more than 17 years of teaching experience. He taught a broad spectrum of courses related to materials science, particularly to composite materials during his long stint as an academician. He has organized more than 10 training programs for those working in composites industry and those planning to start their own composites industry. This book is the outcome of his broad knowledge in composite materials acquired during teaching and interaction with industries. He is also actively involved in the research of ceramics and composites. He has published more than 75 research papers and written four chapters in different books. A Life Member of the Indian Ceramic Society, FRP Institute and Indian Institute of Metals, Dr. Balasubramanian is also an elected member of the Indian Institute of Ceramics.
